Spectrum Thunder Football is led by dedicated and experienced coaches and volunteers who are committed to the growth and development of young athletes. Our coaching staff focuses on instilling values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline while providing a positive and supportive environment for all players.
HEAD COACH
PAUL MULHOLLAND
Coach Paul brings over two decades of coaching experience to the Spectrum Thunder football program.
Growing up, he played five years of community football in Cowichan, competing in two Provincial Championships, before joining the Victoria Payless (now the Westshore Rebels) for 1 season.
Since 2005, Paul has been a cornerstone of the Victoria Spartans organization under the Vancouver Island Canadian Football Association (VICFA). Over the years, he has coached players ages 8-18 across Atom, Peewee, Junior Bantam, Bantam, and Midget levels. He spent 12 years leading the Spartans’ Midget program, winning two Provincial Championships as Assistant Head Coach and appearing in two more as Head Coach.
In 2014, Paul served as Special Teams Assistant Coach with the then Victoria Rebels and, since 2019, has been the Coaching Coordinator for the Victoria Spartans. He is also an active member of the National Coaching Certification Program, participating in workshops both in person and online.
Last season marked Paul’s first year coaching high school football with the Spectrum Thunder Junior Varsity team - a role he’s excited to continue developing. A proud Saanich resident for over 30 years, Paul has strong ties to the Spectrum community, with his wife, children, and many friends and relatives among its alumni.
SPECIAL TEAMS COORDINATOR
BRAEDYN CHARETTE
Coach Braedyn grew up playing football in Sudbury, Ontario, before moving west to play three seasons with the VI Raiders and one with Holland College, where he earned league All-Star and team captain honors.
With over 15 years of playing experience, he now coaches as Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach for the Spectrum Thunder. Off the field, he’s training to become a Registered Massage Therapist, combining his athletic background with a passion for injury prevention and recovery.


ASSISTANT COACH
TONY PEREIRA
Tony has been a football coach since 2005, primarily in BC Communities - JB and Bantam as a HC and BC High School Grade 8, JV and Varsity as a OC, HC and STC respectively. He attained his NCCP Level 2 Football in 2006, and has also done several stints as a BC Community League President, BC Interior Conference Commissioner and is currently a BCFOA Official #94.
An interesting fact about Coach Tony and Coach Paul: They competed against one another as 16 years olds in a BC Community Football semi final!

OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR
TY METCALF
Football has always been a driving force in Ty’s life. After high school, he received offers from both USports and junior teams, ultimately choosing to begin his journey in Calgary. Looking for a new challenge, he later joined the Westshore Rebels, where he spent two incredible seasons, forming lifelong bonds and gaining valuable experience. Though an injury brought his playing career to an end, Ty's passion for the game never faded. He transitioned into coaching and currently coaches for the Westshore Rebels along with Spectrum. His experience, energy, and commitment will benefit the team as we work towards another successful season.

DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR
CONNOR WAY
Connor Way an enthusiastic assistant coach for the Spectrum Thunder, bringing a passion for the game and a wealth of experience to the team. With a background as a former collegiate player, Connor transitioned to coaching, where he quickly made a name for himself by developing young talent and fostering a positive team culture. strategic approach and dedication to player development have been instrumental in the Thunder's success on and off the court. Outside of coaching, Connor enjoys mentoring aspiring athletes and sharing his love for the game with the community.

JASON LESLIE
Teacher Sponsor
Coach Leslie has been coaching youth to high performance sports for the last 25 years and just received his Chartered Professional Coach (ChPC) designation for the Coaching Association of Canada. A recent graduate from the University of British Columbia's master's degree of High Performance in Coaching and Technical Leadership and current Director of Player and Coaching Development for the Victoria Mariners, Coach Leslie has focused most of his time on baseball for the last 10 years winning three provincial championships, represented BC at the 13U AAA National Championships in Montreal, Quebec in 2019, and winning a gold medal at the 2022 BC Summer Games.
As a high school teacher in Victoria, BC, Coach Leslie helped start Belmont's football program in 2006 as a defensive coordinator for many years and now is the teacher sponsor for Spectrum's current football program. When Coach Leslie is not teaching or coaching, he fills his days up as a Learning Facilitator and Coach Evaluator for Baseball Canada.

ANNA WARHURST
Team Manager
Anna is driven to do any work needed to ensure the success of whatever team or group her kids are a part of. She is the Spectrum Rep and an Executive Member of the Victoria Confederation of PACs. She has been the Chair of an Army Cadet Parent Support Committee and active at the team management level in hockey for the past decade. Her two main highlights are leading a successful campaign to win $100,000 for The Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island in the 2021 Good Deeds Cup and being part of the successful relaunch of the Spectrum football program!

KATELYNN RAMSEY
Team Manager
When she’s not busy being a mom of seven ("Free time? What’s that!?"), Katelynn dedicates her energy to helping run football teams. She’s been involved in community football for seven years, including two years as Vice President of the Victoria Spartans, and this is her second year with the Spectrum Thunder. She loves getting kids out on the field doing what they love and putting her organization skills to work to help the team succeed!

ROBB McCAGHREN

Robb McCaghren has recently become part of the Spectrum Thunder football program. With a passion for sports photojournalism, Robb captures the raw emotion, intensity, and stories behind every play. Over the past several seasons, he’s built strong connections with players, coaches, and families across multiple sports, becoming known as a talented photographer and trusted storyteller. Through his lens, he strives to highlight not just the game, but the heart of the athletes who play it, and tell the stories the scoreboard doesn't.
